AXIS Q1961-XTE Explosion-Protected Thermal Camera

AXIS Q1961-XTE is a compact explosion-protected thermal camera designed for hazardous areas and certified for Zone 2 and Class/Division 2 according to international standards including ATEX, IECEx, and cULus. It enables remote temperature monitoring from −40 °C to 350 °C and provides alerts when temperatures exceed defined thresholds or change rapidly. The camera supports spot temperature measurement and up to 10 configurable polygonal detection areas for accurate thermal monitoring and early fire detection. The camera uses a 384 × 288 uncooled microbolometer thermal sensor with a 7 mm lens and 55° field of view. It supports video streaming up to 30 fps with H.264, H.265, and Motion JPEG compression using Axis Zipstream for efficient bandwidth usage. Built on the ARTPEC-8 chipset with a deep learning processing unit, it includes analytics such as AXIS Motion Guard, AXIS Fence Guard, AXIS Loitering Guard, video motion detection, audio detection, and tampering alarm. AXIS Q1961-XTE features an IP66 and IP67 rated enclosure with IK10 impact resistance and NEMA 4X protection. It supports PoE or 10–28 V DC power and operates in temperatures from −30 °C to 60 °C. Built-in cybersecurity is provided through Axis Edge Vault with secure boot, signed OS, encrypted storage, and TPM-based hardware protection.
